Antonio signs 3.5 year contract on 100k pw
As much as Mickey has done great for us - A 3.5 year contract at 31 years old on 100k per week seems madness from the club.

Good for Antonio it’s a great deal that sets him up for a nice retirement but that length of contract for any player of that age seems a strange business decision.

A good lot of players get a good contract or late one and then don't really down tools but never give it all ever again on match days

Trevor Sinclair for one comes to mind.

Antonio will not - that will do me.

As crossed Hammers said earlier, some of you are acting like it's your money.

I'll stick to buying a season ticket and watch Mick run his balls off for 90 minutes, something that I enjoy immensely.

Let the cunts upstairs work on the details.

Re: Antonio signs 3.5 year contract on 100k pw
I grant you 100k a week until he is (by my maths unlike those of the board sponsored blog post, given his birthday is before the end of this season ie the .5 of a year) 35 sounds like madness and it probably is….but given we have in recent memory had Carroll on around 90k a week, Lucas Perez on about 80k, and Hernández on an alleged 140k+, well, by comparison…

Now whether any of that makes this current decision more sensible or just shows how GSB have been making mental decisions for a long time is of course a matter of opinion.

...and by the way I have been lucky enough to sit near the front of the tunnel both at Upton Park and the LS and for all the time he's been a West Ham player he's walked off looking absolutely fucked.

A magnificent athlete we're very lucky to have.

If there's a player who deserves 100k in our team it's Micky.

Isn't our Ukrainian captain on 140k to sit on the bench pulling splinters out of his arse?

To be fair to the club it's 2.5 years from now his contract end plus a year's option to extend. That is good business. Well done the club (for a change).

The irony us that some of the posters they were having kittens over the thought of giving one of our best players a long contract are also the same ones who constantly bitch about the boards apparent lack of spending.

Crossed hammers

100k a week is alot of money

COYI only earns that in a year.

Ah ok.
Not convinced at all this is good buisness.
It's extremley generous IMO.
Not sure then how signing Digne would potentially destroy our wage structure.

Turns out it's 2.5 years with the option of another - that's better.

I really like Antonio and feel he has been great for us but it does feel like the Reid contract all over again

I mean I will be very disappointed if he is still first choice in a year or 2
